You’re not the only one struggling with…
You'll get 1:1, on-demand, laser coaching from Jennifer and/or Carole.
You'll also meet with your cohort in facilitated coaching circles, where you'll coach, get coached, and learn to coach like a prol
You'll learn foundational strategies at the kick-off retreat, with processes and templates for designing your project plan.
You'll attend monthly 60-minute workshops on additional content that responds to the challenges cohort members are facing.
You don't have to be worn out and isolated.
Working on a project in community has tangible benefits beyond the good feels. You'll learn more, learn faster, and gain deeper insights than if you go it alone.
Participants are leading a key initiative or high-stakes project for their institution in any functional area and with any job title. Projects might included developing a new strategic plan; preparing for an important search; revising curriculum; preparing for accreditation; creating a climate survey; and more.
Participants might also be focused on a project for their personal growth, such as focusing on a project during sabbatical, preparing a monograph, or completing a scholarly or creative project of their own.
They share a common love for what they do, a desire to make things better, and frustration with a culture that's getting in their way.
Your job title doesn't matter. Neither do your years of experience.
What matters is that you're completing a high-stakes project without appropriate resources, and are anxious about how to pull it off.
Outside of the two weekend retreats, you'll spend a few hours each month.
Every three weeks we’ll host a 90-minute small group coaching conversation.
Once a month we’ll host a 60-minute workshop with topics TBD, suggested by cohort members.
Project Hero includes three 50-minute 1:1 coaching conversations with Jennifer or Carole.
You have unlimited, on-demand access to laser coaching throughout the program.
We're focused on prioritizing your safety and well-being while keeping the retreats affordable.
In January 2025 our retreat is in Minneapolis. (Yes, it's cold. It's also in an affordable, easy-to-access blue state.) We'll hold the retreat during one of the final two weekends in January.
We'll identify our June location in consultation with cohort members.
You can pay on your own, with institutional funds, or a combination of the two.
We accept credit cards and checks. We can send your institution an invoice or PO. Email us if you want to talk through options.
Payment is due by the start of the program.
Quick, near-instant (as much as is possible) feedback from a coach.
Using text or voice messaging, you describe your challenge or quick question. Your coach gets back to you as quickly as possible.
We aim for a turnaround of 60-minutes or less between 8am-5pm (central) on weekdays, and for a next-business-day turnaround for questions that come in evenings and weekends.
What makes us different is we care about your life.
We're not teaching you abstract, decontextualized planning processes that look great on paper.
We're guiding you through a complete, holistic process for understanding the key elements of your success in any project.
We're showing you how to prioritize (and maximize) the essentials that will accelerate progress and how to let go of the rest.
We're two literature PhDs who were worn down by the lack of support high achievers are given to do their jobs.
Jennifer was a tenured faculty member who gave up tenure to move to Canada, where she set up shop as a coach and facilitator.
As a PhD student, Carole couldn't bear how her faculty treated each other. Terrified of being tenured stuck for life with folks like that, she became an administrator to make lasting change in department cultures.
We both have found freedom and joy helping others navigate the murky waters of departmental politics, professional success, and living a full, rich life.
