Something is keeping you up at night. Has you questioning how you spend your days. You’re wondering...

But inside you're unsettled.

You love life on a college campus.

You love being surrounded by brilliant colleagues.

Why don’t people see my value?

I've been there.
I can help you through.

The students. The energy. The curiosity.

You love the pomp and circumstance.

You love higher ed - its possibility and promise.

Why can't I get more traction with my vision?

When are people going to treat me like a leader?

When am I going to feel like a real leader?

You're a new program director or department chair

You're wrangling committees, leading senate, or managing initiatives

You're a mid-career administrator feeling the bureaucratic doldrums

You're a senior executive longing to rekindle your administrative spark

You want to rebuild campus morale after one (or more) significant culture shocks

You’re on the dean track and want to make the most of it

You're so ready.

Elevated Leadership Coaching

is uniquely designed to help you quit conforming to others’ expectations about what women’s leadership looks like -- and instead feel energized by your personal vision, confident in your strengths, and ready to tackle even the gnarliest challenges.

!

We'll spend six months tackling those gnarly questions you can’t see your way through (yet). You’ll dig deep in unexpected ways. Gain the kinds of insights and direction you’re longing for. You’ll experience breakthroughs, find clarity, and emerge with confidence about your path. You’ll be able to clearly articulate your values and link them to your daily work. We’ll identify the habits and behaviors you can change to lead the way you want to lead, and you’ll be equipped with the tools and resources you need to turn those changes into new habits.

Do any of these sound like you?

You’re stuck on one side of the leadership chasm. You have responsibilities but don’t feel you have the respect and authority you need (or deserve).

You’re longing to get to the other side -- feeling strong, confident, and valued.

Crossing that bridge isn’t hard.
It just takes focus.

And a bit of help.

Let me help you...

How Elevated Leadership Coaching
is Different

We commonly see two kinds of coaching in higher ed.

One is where the coach as sounding board -- someone who asks probing questions that move you into deeper self-understanding you can take action on.

The other is the coach as experienced mentor – someone who has had job like yours, understands the ins and outs, and walks the path with you as you gain confidence and clarity in your new role.

Most coaching programs give you one or the other.

ElevatED Coaching gives you both.

I have deep training in conversational intelligence, positive intelligence, and other coaching frameworks that encourage deep questions that lift the coachee to new heights.

I also have more than 25 years of experience mentoring leaders in higher ed, from department chairs and program directors to deans and provosts.

But don't just take my word for it:

“Carole has a strong focus on developing others, encouraging strategic thinking and promoting success through goal setting, reflection, and developing a strong vision for success. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with Carole Chabries. She is a fantastic leader and mentor.”

- Nicole Schwensow

“Carole’s performance reviews of myself along with our regular 1:1 meetings helped me better understand my strengths, to fairly evaluate myself, and to set effective and meaningful goals. The things that Carole helped me understand about myself and the example she set as a leader helped me develop my own leadership style that is both true to myself and applicable to the roles that I have filled since.”

- Andy Doran

“Carole is a collaborative and adaptable leader who builds partnerships with a ‘what’s possible’ mindset. She has a personable and thoughtful approach to people relatively new to their leadership role. She can teach and inspire while putting people at ease, and is gifted in asking insightful questions and then listening with curiosity to understand.”

- Debbie Okerlund

In a small group setting, [Carole's] approach “deep-dives” into values-driven leadership creating safe space for critical conversations.”

- Tina Olson

I can't wait to Be Your Coach

Carole Chabries, PhD

Coaches have helped me navigate some of the most pivotal moments of my career. I know the gifts a powerful coach gives her clients and I'm eager to share those gifts with you.

We'll be a great fit if you're ambitious, smart as a whip (but maybe a little afraid to say that out loud), trust your intuition, have a healthy dose of skepticism, and know that despite those nagging fears and pushy voices telling you to quit being so ambitious and out there, you were made to lead

Here's how it works

A Guide To

Elevated Leadership Coaching

Good coaches understand your job and tell you how to do it better.

Great coaches understand you. A great coach listens closely, asks questions that challenge, push, and inspire you, and slashes through the mental and emotional clutter so you can see your own epiphanies clearly.

Great coaching sharpens your self-awareness, deepens your compassion, and supercharges your empathy. As a result, you're a more powerful leader.

A superstar.

If that sounds equal parts scary and exhilarating, you're ready.

Your Coaching Engagement includes

  • Six months of biweekly phone calls, focused on what's most urgent for you.

  • A private coaching portal with notes, exercises, and activities

  • Additional 1:1 access to me through a private, encrypted chat app

  • A free post-engagement session, one month after we're done, to keep momentum going

Hold up!

There's more.

(I told you this was different!)

$ 3500 Value

I promised you a quantifiable deliverable. This is it. During our coaching engagement we’ll complete a significant project of your choosing. You’ll identify a project that advances your leadership agenda. It can focus on you and your growth, be something your institution needs, or something else – it’s completely up to you. We’ll frame the project together, and I’ll complete it with your input, guidance, and feedback. You’ll end the coaching engagement with a finished product you can document and share.

Past examples include revising a year-long process for engaged advising; conducting a 360 annual review by surveying over 100 colleagues; and writing a program proposal drawn from internal focus groups and single interviews.

These projects add an average of 20 hours of work to our engagement -- all at no additional cost to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a coach do?

Honestly, all kinds of things. A really great coach guides you to your own epiphanies and decisions by helping you process your options, your desires, and your vision for a rewarding life. You'll sometimes get uncomfortable and you can expect to have transformative breakthroughs.

Some coaches tell you what to do. I'm not that kind of coach.

Isn't Six Months Kind of a big Commitment?

Yep.

It's also a fraction of your commitment to your role.

If you want someone to tell you how to do your job, you could hire that kind of coach for some training. But if you want to dig into your values, process big decisions, understand your motivations, and make decisions you can stand by, well, that takes time and effort. We need time to build a strong relationship to get all that stuff going, and then (of course) time to actually do the work.

Add in that project you've got percolating that will really move things for you...and you can see why we need time together.

Is My coaching Confidential?

Absolutely. We can talk about how to share what you're learning with your boss (if you choose), but my contracts are written to provide full confidentiality to the coachee, even if the institution is paying.

If you want to involve your boss or a sponsor, we can discuss that possibility.

My institution is paying and needs an invoice/purchase order. Where do I get one?

I will happily send you one. We can work that out after you've applied and we're ready to get started.

I'm not a woman. Will you Coach me?

Maybe.

I am 100% committed to coaching people who identify as women, and prioritize those clients. I do occasionally coach men who have a demonstrated record of being open, curious, and caring. If I've already offended you by saying that we won't be a good fit.

If you think you'd like to work with me but aren't sure we're a good fit, go ahead and fill out an application. I'm always open for exploratory conversations.

The timing isn’t great for me. Can I Sign up later?

Because this coaching is so time-intensive I only accept a few clients at a time. So yes you can apply later, but I can't guarantee I'll have openings.  Just being honest.
